SUNDAY SERVICES

At First Church the Her, W. Allen Stovely’s subjects will be, in the morning •Whitsunday’ and in the evening ‘Pentecost.’ The evening music will include the quartet ‘ The Duteous Day Now Closeth,’ and the anthem ‘ Now Thank We All Our God.’ Dr Galway will be at the organ. The services at Knox Church will be conducted by the Rev, D, C. Herron, M.A., who will speak in the evening on ‘ Pride in Our Heritage.’ The preacher at the morning service in St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church will be the Rev. Thomas Miller, whose subject will be ‘ How Excellent is Thy Name.* At the evening service the preacher will be Mr Donald Grant, of the China Inland Mission. The services at the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church will be conducted by the Kev. A. C. W. Standage, the subjects being * Life’s Challenges: Acceptance or Evasion?’ and ‘ Personal Religion. A parade of Life Boys will be held in the morning. Divine worship will bo conducted by tha Rev. B. Metson at the Trinity Methodise Church, Stuart street, to-morrqw morning and evening, the subjects being ‘ Doors Open Everywhere ’ and ‘ Who’s Afraid of the Big, Bad —’ Miss Edith .RjtcWe will Sing the solo ‘ I WilTSing of ThyGteait Mercy.’ The solo-anthem by the choir will be ‘Sweet is the Sunlight,’ soloist, Mrs J. M'Dougall. Cargill Road Methodist services.—Rev. H. R. Wright preaches in the morning and Rev. H. C. Orchard at night. At the close of the evening service the Sacrament will bo administered. St Clair services: Morn-: ing, Rev. H. C. Orchard j ; evening, Rev. H. R. Wright. Anthem,; evening, Cargill; Road, ‘ O Worship the King.’ Rev. J. Ewen Simpson conducts the services at the Hanover Baptist Church. The morning subject will be 1 Unused Possessions,’ and the service will conclude with the Communion. In the evening a visitors’ service will be held. The subject will be ‘Three Up and Two to Play.’ The hymnstudy will be ‘ 1 Heard the Voice of Jesus Say,’ and Misses R. and M. Shrimptou will present the duet, ‘ Still Ha is Pleading.’ There will be an “at home” in the church hall at 8 p.m., to which all are cordially invited. The North-east Valley Baptist Church will hold usual meetings at XX a.m. and 6:30 p.m., preacher, the Rev. James Reid. At Caversham Baptist Church the morning service will be conducted by the Rev.. R. L. Fursdon. At night the visiting evangelist, the Rev. Bernard Wilson, will be tbe preacher. Mr Wilson commences the united new life campaign, which will be continued in the Presbyterian Church, Caversham, as advertised.

At the Congregational Church, Moray Place, the services will be conducted in the morning by Professor S. F. Hunter, and in the evening by Mr George Falloon. The anthem at the evening service will be 4 0 Hay of Kest and Gladness/ At the Greater World Spiritual Mission Mr Clifford Smith, of Wellington, will conduct the services, his subject being The Mystery of the Virgin Birth,* Clairvoyant messages will follow. At the Salvation Army at 11 a.m, the subject will be * Pentecost: Why it Came, speaker, Bandsman William Reay. At 3 p.m. ‘ A Definite Experience/ and at 7 p.m. ‘The Unity of the Spirit/ speaker. Adjutant Victor Dick. Soloist, Bro. Stan Harford, ‘ Jesus Himself Drew Near.’ Afc 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. young people’s meetings will be held in the Sunday School Hall. At the Theosophical Society there will be an address by Miss C. Dalziel, her subject being ‘The Threefold Man.’ At the Spiritualist Church in the evening, Dr Moorey, the visiting Australian psychic, will continue his address on ‘ Birth Thirteen Steps—Death.’ He will also give demonstrations of spiritual clairvoyance. The Healing Centro will meet on Monday evening, and there will be a psycbometery meeting on Tuesday evening. In the Strand Theatre Pastor Bradley will commence a new series in Uis lectures on ‘ Prophecy Speaks.’ The subject will be ‘The-Spanish Crisis in Prophecy,’ and will commence an analysis of the RpmishProtestant controversy. This series is extremely important, and will prove educational. Two sessions are to be conducted. 6.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The visit of the Rev. Bernard Wilson to Caversham to conduct a united mission in the Caversham Presbyterian Church is'attracting much interest. Mr Wilson was recently associated with the eminent evangelist, the Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher, in an extensive Gospel campaign in England under the auspices of the Mildmay Mission. The ■visiting evangelist received training in the New Zealand Baptist College, and held the pastorate of a Baptist church in. Christchurch which he relinquished in order to undertake evangelistic work in Australia. Mr Wilson is now conducting a number of new life campaigns in New Zealand before taking his departure for Australia. His first meetings commence on Tuesday, June 7, and continue (Saturdays excepted) until Wednesday, June 15. The week-night meetings commence at 7.30 o’clock.
