[From Our Oamartt Correspondent.] plunkeFsociety. Tho annual meeting of the Oamaru branch of the Plunket Society was presided over by the mayor (Mr L. J. K. Familton). The annual report of the president (Mrs T. A. Muuro) expressed appreciation of the support of the members and committee, and the Advisory Board. The committee and collectors were congratulated on the success of their efforts. Tho attendance at the monthly meetings of delegates from the Women’s Division, W.C.T.U., Newborough Guild, Church of Christ, and League of AVomeu Helpers was appreciated. The street collection yielded £BO 9s 3d. Thanks were due to the mayor, tho nurses, Mr Glen (treasurer), the Rev. A. H. Nordmeyer, M.P., Miss Lilian Familton (for the gift of a picture for the Plunket room), tho Rotary Club, and Mr H. Grocott (auditor). The following officers were elected:— President, Mrs T. A. Munro; vice-pre-sidents—Mesdames M. F. E. Cooney, Edwards, K. Gardiner, Harvey, and Williams: town committee—Mesdames Brown, K. Familton, E. A. Fox, Lambert, M’Quin, AV. J. M'Stay, J. B. Purcell, and Smith Morton. The town nurse (Nurse H. AA’ilson) reported:—Visits to homes 1,715, to office 2,149; .new cases for year 90, including breast-fed 60, partly, breast-fed 10, artificially fed 20: babies now under supervision, 122; older children, 55, The country nurse (Nurse E. Davies) reported:—Visits to rooms 989, to homes 1,927; new cases for year, 106; breast-fed. 88,. partially breast-fed 8, artificially fed 10: babies now under supervision, 120, older children, 60. . l. An address was; given .by.
