TO THE EDITOU. Sir, —“ Committee Woman ” tries to justify the action of the Coates-Forbes-Hamilton Government for cutting the grants to the kindergartens, but, as Mr Atmoro rightly points out, that Government almost crippled our educational system The administration of any part of our education, system should not be left to private enterprise ; no doubt the association did its best during a trying period,, but in my opinion work of such vital importance should be the prerogative of the State. Free education, from the kindergarten to the university has alwaj's been a policy plank of the Labour Party.—l am, etc., June 2. Jlotheb or Five.
