THE 'SPORTS SPECIAL '

MANY ATTRACTIVE FEATURES TO-MORROW OPENING OF D.J.G. MEETING To-morrow night’s ‘ Sports Special 1 will give full measure, brimming over, to its readers both in the way of sport and magazine specials. The first day of the D.J.C. Winter Meeting will be a “ star ” feature, the events being fully described, and the results analysed by our racing reporter, Rugby, Soccer, hockey, basketball, harriers, cycling—all the day’s events in these codes—will be included, with, also, results from other chief centres and provincial towns. Amongst general sporting articles of wide interest, three may be specially referred to—Tom Pauling’s article on Australian Rugby, indicating the keen interest attached to the All Blacks’ visit, and the training measures adopted; “ Nestor’s ” 1 Cricket Tips and Topics’; and Mr E. G. Garbutt’s interesting canvass of the chances of the first cricket test, and the Essex match. The magazine section will contain a specially-written article by Angelin Milne, London journalist, which analyses British and American humour, ■ and the reasons why each appeals to its own clientele and leaves the other cold; the latest experiment in thought reading, a test on identical thoughts; a generous instalment of the serial, ‘ Lone Hand Laracy,’ and the crossword puzzle. The ’ Sports Special ’ will be sold on the streets to-morrow night from 7 o'clock.
