RUGBY Tlie attraction at Carisbrook will be the match between University A and Pirates, which should provide a bright, open game. As a curtain-raiser the fifth-grade match between Union and Pirates A will be played. At the Caledonian Ground Southern will meet Zingari-Richmond. An interesting game should be witnessed at Opoho between University B and Alhambra, while Mosgiel residents should see a good game between Taieri and Kaikorai. The Dunedin-Union match will be played at Tahuna Park. Official guides will be on sale at the Otago Sports Depot, Jacobs’s, and at the various grounds. SOCCER This week’s draw in the Fletcher Cup Competition promises some excellent games, and with the meeting of High School Old Boys and Mosgiel, at Logan Park, patrons of the round-ball code are assured of bright, attractive football. Mosgiel so far is the only unbeaten team in the competition. In a curtain raiser, starting at 1.30, Mosgiel will meet Kings’ B in the sixthgrade competition. In the other matches Northern will meet Seaclifi at the Gardens, and Technical and Caversham will play on the Oval No. 1, while Roslyn-Wakari will be at home to Mornington on Ellis Park. On Monday, the King’s Birthday, a representative Canterbury eleven will meet Otago in a challenge match for the J. E. Jones Gup, which is at present held by Otago. This match will take place at Logan Park.
