WRESTLING.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —There have appeared different views, including one from Andy Moon, on tho ruling given on Saturday evening, and I, as a regular patron since the inception of the bouts, must congratulate the referee on his ruling. Moon himself says that ho was foxing (that is, acting). Well, ho acted too well for bis own benefit, and can only blame himself for the decision given. In the past there has been too much acting and not enough straight wrestling. Here the referee has erred in not stopping tho contest and declaring it no bout, thus depriving both actors taking part of any remuneration. If this line of action was carried out packed houses would be the order of the day. Often do we read of poor contests in different centres, but if contestants were warned beforehand that they must ■wrestle to a certain standard or risk no reward things would bo different. So my congratulations go to Mr Anderson. Let ns hope he will keep on along these linos. We pay for wrestling, and if we want comedy we can go to the pictures.—l am, etc., Frank Gotch. June 2. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —As I go to all the matches here, I think Mr Anderson did the right thing. If not, the public might not like paying to see someone playing ’possum. Ido think Mr Anderson a very fair-minded man, who did what he thought best.—l am, etc., Wrestling Fan. Juno 1. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —After reading the letter of “ Ringsider,” we would like to express our confidence in Mr Anderson as referee. Being on the stage, we saw the sergeant of police rise from his chair just ns Mr Anderson stopped the bout. If “ Ringsider ” thinks Mr Anderson too slow, wo do hope the Wrests ling Union will stage all-in wrestling for one bout and give “ Ringsider ” the thankless job of referee.—l am, etc.. Ringside Stage. June 1. [This correspondence is now closed.— Ed. E.S.I
