ROYAL DUNEDIN MALE CHOIR
Great interest is being shown in tie rehearsals of the Royal Dunedin Male Choir, under Mr Alfred Walmsley s conductorship, the attendances of members being excellent, which augurs well for the forthcoming 200th concert. _A large number of new part son &J. + been acquired, - those under practice a f present being ‘The 150th Psalm (Cesar Franck), by Mr George Ernngton: The Rate Rug geroVeni), *A Pine Tree Standeth lonely ’ (Sir Hugh Rpberton), Summer Evening’ (Selim Palmgren), the gift of a well-known citizen, Mr Andrew M'Kinnon: ‘Battle of Jericho (Roberton), which has been donated by Messrs David and John Pringle, tne latter being about to depart to cargill on transfer; andl a jolly Hunting Song’ (Ladislas Kun). During the interval presentations or gold bars for honourable sendee were made by the president, Mr Walter Ibbotson, to the following members 15 years’ award, Messrs W. T. Haig, *p F. Basire, and J. D. M Keohme, 10 years, Messrs A. G. Fleming and G. S. Thomson. New members this month are: tirst tenors, Messrs D. A. Lake and S. W. Jarvis; baritones, Messrs Wm. h. Snow and N. C, Clapp. Foundation Member Mr A. H. Norman (Sydney) intends to be present at this 200th concert.
