■ SERVING30,000 MEALS A DAY— -at EARL'S COURT. LONDON The Earl's Court Exhibition and Entertainment Centre in London is easily the largest building of. its kind, in the world. It caters constantly to an enormous flow of visitors from every part of the globe. The colossal task of ministering to the inner needs of the 15,000 people who often visit Earl’s Court in the course of a day frequently involves the preparation and serving of 30,000 meals. In this famous building covering nine acres there are four restaurants (with a seating capacity of 4000), 5 tea lounges, and 25 snack bars. There are also 3 conference halls (seating over 3000), convertible on special occasions into banqueting halls, plus staff dining rooms and cafeteria. GAS-COOKED, EXCLUSIVELY GAS-eqaipped Kitchens A Staff of 900 people are required to provide this immense number of meals. The appliances are housed in seven principal gasequipped kitchens (one of the two largest with a floor space of 17,500 square feet). In such an immense building instant supplies of hot water at an enormous number of taps at once was a problem beyond the economic capacity of a central system.
