The Warsaw correspondent of ‘ The Times’ says: “The opera strikers reaffirmed their decision to stay in until their minimum demands were granted. Thirty women who had become hysterical departed, but were replaced by children brought in to join their mothers, as their homes were without food and unheated. The Artiste and Musicians’ Union threatens to join in if the dispute is not speedily settled.” [A recent message stated that 400 artiste, ballet girls, and others took possession of the Warsaw Opera House and embarked' on a stay-in strike because their wages were alleged to be £5,000 in arrears.!
