RECORD OUTPUT BIG ORDERS FROM RUSSIA (British Official Wireless.} Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, February 11. The. steel output in January in the United Kingdom of 1,081,400 tons was the highest ever recorded for the first month of the year. Newspapers record the placing with a Sheffield firm of one of the biggest orders for steel works, plant, and machinery ever booked in Sheffield. The order has been placed by the Soviet, and its execution .will give continuous employment for 18 months at the new works, which the firm recently opened. The total weight of the finished machinery will be between 5,000 tons and 6,000 tons. _ I The order was obtained in keen competition with tenders from Germany and the United States.
