HEARING THE WORLD
SOUTH DUNEDIN ANNUAL MEETING. The activities of the last year were interestingly reviewed at the annual meeting recently of the South Dunedin branch of the New Zealand DX Radio Association. There was a large ■ attendance of members. A substantial increase in the credit balance, which now stands at £29 8s 4d, was shown in the financial statement submitted by the secretary. The following officers were elected : —Patron, the Postmaster-General (the Hon. F. Jones); president, Mr W. F. Crooke; vice-presidents, Messrs E. J. Gray and E. R. Smith; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. E. A. Sanderson. A vote of thanks to the retiring office-bearers was carried.
The branch announces that a beginners’ class, under the supervision of Mr Mussen, is to be started this month. Latest verifications shown by members include :—CKLW, Canada (5,000 watts) ; KEX, Oregon (5,000 watts) ; FABN, Budapest (50 watts). Short wave: NY2AE, Cocos; VK2NG, VK4JX, VKSAI, VK7YL, VKOMU.
