VISIT DEFERRED
THE KING AND INDIA (British Official Wireless.) Press 'Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, February 10. (Received February 11, at 11 a.m.) The India Office announces that the King has communicated his decision not to visit . India during the winter of 1938. “ His Majesty feels that he would not be justified in imposing any additional burden on the existing revenues of India at: a time when the calls on them in connection with the inauguration of provincial autonomy are already heavy.” The King ■ expressed his regret, _ and announced his intention of visiting India as soon as the circumstances permit. The Duke of Gloucester’s household denies any knowledge of plana for. the Duke to visit India.
