BROADCASTING.
TO THE EDITOR* Sir, —I am sure there are many; readers disappointed in the morning programmes from 4YA. I know it ia hard to please everyone, but surely ai little popular music first thing in the morning would not be degrading. As Station 4ZL is off the air, 1 think it is up to 4YA to give us a light programme. Allow me to write out a programme which would be very appropriate for a breakfast session:—(l)j Nelson Eddie rendering ‘ Indian Love Call ’ and Rose Marie ’; (2) Billy, Reid’s ‘ Popular Melodies ’; (3) Roy, Fox and his band in light numbers ; (4) vocal gems from ‘ Maid of the Mountains'; (5) Bobby Breen’s * Rainbow on the River’ and ‘Let’s Sing Again ’; (6) waltzes by . London Paladium Orchestra, ‘ Silver and Gold, 7 ' etc.; (7) Turner Layton in * Dinner For One, Please, James,’ etc.; (8) Vic* tor Silvester rendering ‘ To You, Sweetheart, Aloha ’ and ‘ Lost ’; (9) George Formby ia two popular numbers; (10)1 Silver Screen Orchestra rendering two' numbers; (11) Fred. Astaire in .‘A 1 Pine Romance ’ and' * Top Hat.’ I think a programme " similar to this would be appreciated by the listeners.-** I am, etc., R.I.J, August 7.
