Forty thousando people, including 10,000 pilgrims from 22 nations, acclaimed the Pope on tho occasion of his
seventy-ninth birthday, as he was ceremonially borne to Mass at St. Peter’s. The Pope is expected to deliver an important address to a delegation of pilgrims to-night. Fascists attending High Mass wore compelled to leave their revolvers and knives at the entrance to St. Peter’s.
