OTAGO CHAMPIONSHIPS Play was interrupted again yesterday afternoon by the rain, and several games which were started had to be pegged out to be resumed this morning, including the final .of the championship doubles. This trophy was carried off this morning by the Gore pair (Mcsdames APLeod and Pettigrew), who have both played well throughout the tournament. Mrs APLeod made a good break yesterday, taking her ball to penultimate, and the game was well on when it was resumed at 8.15 this morning, the final score being 26-16. Airs Jelley, of the Cromwell Club, is one of the promising junior players. She had a close game vesterclay against Mrs Myles, winning by 3 points. The Central player picked up her roquets well and proved herself a strong opponent. Mrs Cowper, with li bisques in her favour, had a decisive win this morning from Mrs Horn m the handicap singles. The Christchurch player was right on form and used her bisques to good advantage. Results:— A GRADE. CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES. —Final.— Mesdames M‘Leod and Pettigrew (Gore) beat Mesdames Horn and Rigby (Punga), 26-16. 1 CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. —Second Life—Second Round.— Mrs Halstead beat Mrs M'Creath, 26-23. —Third Round.— Mrs Robertson beat Mrs Pettigrew, 26-21. -Semi-finals. — J. Taunock won from Mrs Robertson by default. HANDICAP SINGLES. —Third Round.— Mrs Horn beat Mrs Creath, 26-11. —Semi-finals.— Mrs Cowper heat Mrs Horn, 26-18; Mrs M'Lennan won from Mrs Quinn by default. B GRADE.
