A grass fire on the railway embankment at Caveraham received the attention of the City Fire Brigade at 2.40 this afternoon. Scientists have discovered that earthquakes send out warnings in advance. Before almost every large earthquake minor sound waves radiate from the affected area. Charts to record forecasts of the earthquake centre are being devised. Warnings will then be sent out to people living in the areas some hours before the earthquake is expected. ' ■
