BOWLING. The following team was selected last night to represent South Otago in the match against Eastern Districts at Balclutha on Saturday-T. Duncan, P. Low, L. Duncan, W. Jefferson (Stirling'); C. Bisset (Kaitangata), H. Little, J. Walls, A. Lotting (Stirling); P. Souness, W. M'Gliee, W. Neill, W. Thomson (Kaitangata); J. T. Wilson, G. Smith, T. Clayton, T. Cameron (Milton); G. Clark, C. Clery, R. M. Rutherford, P. Devanney (Milton) ; P. Poynter (Balclutha), J. Russell (Warepa), J. Johnston, A. Hayward (Balclutha); H. Barnett, W. Harvey, B. Harraway, I. Anderson (Benhar); P. Watt (Warepa), J. M'Namara, G. Parkinson (Balclutha), T. Barron (Benhar). Yesterday afternoon the members of the Balclutha Ladies’ Bowling Club held a farewell afternoon in honour of Mrs M'Crorie, a member of the Stirling Club, wbo leaves this week to take up residence in Milton. Mrs M'Crorie has at different times assisted the Balclutha Club. Before commencing play those present who ihcluded visitors fro in Kaitangata and Stirling, stood in silence as a mark of respect to the late King George. A pleasant game was then played, despite the oppressive weather conditions. During the afternoon tea adjournment Mrs Culb.ert, on behalf of the Balclutha ladies, asked Mrs M'Ororie to accept a crystal vase as a token of esteem and as a tribute to her many sporting qualities. Musical honours were then accorded the recipient. Miss Shaw (Kaitangata) also paid a tribute to Mrs M'Crorie. Mrs Low, on behalf of the Stirling ladies, thanked the Balclutha ladies for their afternoon and the kindly thought behind the presentation to one of their members.
