MOTOR ACCIDENT

FOUR INJURED IN COLLISION Details of the motor accident that occurred on the road near Milton late on Sunday night show that a Balcluthaowned sedan taxi, driven by Mr Stewart Clent, and carrying three passengers, was proceeding south and collided with a north-bound light truck driven by Mr W. G. Deans ; of Dunedin. The taxi struck the side of the truck and slewed the vehicle round. The taxi somersaulted along the roadway before coming to a stop 20yds away. The driver of the truck was not injured, but a friend travelling with him—Mr Jarrold C. Smith, of Dunedin received a cut on the head which necessitated a few stitches. The four occupants of the taxi all suffered injuries, and were taken to the Milton Hospital. The driver, whose leg was broken, was removed with difficulty from the wrecked framework of the taxi. James Wilson suffered concussion, and Miss Nora Farquhar a scalp wound. Mrs Scott, the other passenger, escaped with minor injuries and was able to proceed to her home yesterday.
