SUNDAY SERVICES
At First Church the Rev. W. Allen Stevely will preach in the morning, on ‘ Walking by Faith,’ and in the evening ‘The Second Coming.’ Dr Galway will be at the organ, and the 1 choir will .render the anthem ‘Hear My Prayer ’ (Mendelssohn’/. The Rev. D. O. Herron will conduct both services in Knox Church. The subject for the evening will be ‘ The Hour When a Man Requires to Meet x His Past.’ The preacher at St. Stephen’s Church will be the Rey. Thomas Miller, whose morning subject will be ‘ Our Universal Need.’ His subject in the evening will be ‘ Angels— Their Ministry.’ Thp Rev. R. T. Dodds will conduct both services at the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church. The choir will sing the anthem ‘Come, Let Us Join’ (Hall). The Rev. C. H. Olds will conduct both services at Trinity Methodist Church. In the morning he will speak on ‘ The Sacrifice of Isaac,’ and in the evening on ‘Recruiting.’ The evening anthem will be ‘ Evening and Morning,’ and Mrs A. Chisholm will sing ‘ Consider the Lilies.’ The service at Dundas, street Methodist Church will be conducted by the Rev. Percy Cooke. Morning subject, ‘ Kept in Peace,’ evening ‘ The Greatest Sin in the World ’; solo, Mrs Sparrow; men’s Fellowship at 4.45. In the absence of the Rev. T. Skuse, who is conducting a week’s mission at Port Chalmers, the services at the St. Kilda Methodist Church are being conducted in the morning by Mr A. Ganderton, and in the evening by Sister Margaret Ramsay. At the Cargill Road Methodist Church evening service a tribute of remembrance will be paid to the late Mr J. B. Shacklock. The Rev. G. E. Brown will be the preacher, and will be assisted bv Mr D. C. Cameron. -
The Rev. T. Keech Bwen will preach at Hanover Street Baptist Church, his subjects being ‘ The Life With Buoyant Possibilities ’ in the morning, and ‘ Ecce Homo ’ in the evening. The Rev. R. L. Fursdon will preach at the Caversham Baptist Church. The morning subject is ‘ God’s Optimist,’ and at eight ‘ The Psychological Moment.’ The choir will render a hymn study ‘ What Have I Given For Thee.’ The ordinance of the Lord’s Supper will be observed at the close of the evening service. The Rev. T. R. Page will conduct the morning service at the South Dunedin Baptist Church, when a special address will be given to the children. Mr T. Turner, a missionary on furlough from Bolivia, will preach at night. Mrs Tyrrell and Mrs M’Lintock will sing a duet. Services will be conducted at the Moray Place Congregational Church by the Rev. Albert Mead. In the morning he will speak on ‘ The Message of Jonah,’ and the evening subject will be ‘ The Church and the Gospel.’ Mrs Frank Benton will sing ‘ O Love Divine’ (Handel). ' Tire St. Kilda Band will parade from George street north in the evening and present a special musical service at the United Congregational Church. The Rev. C. G. Hedley Bycroft will speak on ‘ Praise Changes Things,’ his morning topic being * Answered Prayer.’ The Christadelphian Society will conduct services as usual in Unity Chambers, Stuart street. At the evening service Mr King, of Timaru, will deliver an illustrated lecture, particulars of which are advertised. At the Theosophical Society there will be a presentation of the ceremony of light. Mr A. W. Stables will speak on ‘ What Spiritualism Implies ’ at the Spiritualist Church in the evening, and Mrs Brooks will follow with spiritual clairvoyance. There will be an open session at the Lyceum, and the healing Centre will meet as usual on Thursday evening. ,
