FIERCE DISCUSSION IN MELBOURNE Vrwa A Monition—Bj ToWgnipii—Copjrifht MELBOURNE, July 18. There was a fierce discussion to-night at a conference of the Victorian Returned Soldiers’ Association on a motion urging the immediate return of compulsory military training. One section, violently hostile to the motion, talked of “throwing in their badges ” if the motion was passed. Opinion was almost equally divided. A serious dispute was averted by an amendment which agreed to referring the subject to sub-branches for discussion.
