Aerial distribution of grasshopper poison bait was demonstrated before » dozen entomologists of the Dominion and North-western United _ States at Lethbridge, in Canada, during a conference of scientists seeking best ways and means of combating the infestation. A biplane, with Pilot E. Bofl'a at the controls, equipped with a “ spreader ” invented by Terrance [golsby, of Lethbridge, and several hundred pounds of bait aboard, gave a demonstration of rapid spreading of bait which greatly impressed the entomlogists. By means of the overhead spreader it is possible to spread the bait evenly over large areas very quickly at the "rate of about 10 pounds to the acre, which is not possible by hand method nojy used*.
