[A message from Tacoma received on June 22 stated that 45 years in M'Neil Island Penitentiary was the sentence given Hartnon Waley, aged 24, for the kidnapping of George Weyerhaeuser, aged nine. Federal Court Judge E. E. Cushman deferred action concerning Mrs Margaret Waley, aged 19. Both pleaded guilty to kidnapping and extortion. The judge set aside the wife’s plea on the statement of her attorney and Waley that she knew nothing about the kidnapping until the boy had been held for several days.]
