The Rakaia light-weight, R. J. Rains, has again beaten A. J. Bourne, New Zealand heavy-weight champion. They met at the Rakaia Boxing Association’s tournament on May 21 and again at Christchurch on June 26. By defeating the champion Rains proves that he will he hard to beat at the national championships. He weighs 12st. and has great reach. The main thing about him is his beautiful straight left, while he is very clever on his feet. ■
