Dodsonshattered 74 international class A world’s unlimited and American motoring records in a 24-hour test over the salt flats, Cobb started and finished the day and night run, but the others were largely responsible for making up much of the time lost in the pits and with tyre trouble. The average for the 24 hours was 137.7 m ; ' s per hour, bettering the mark of 127.22 ivrles per hour by A. B. Jenkins, a Utah driver, a few weeks ago. The drivers were beset by heat, winds and adverse conditions.
