A little crowd gathered in the great man’s studio to see his pictures before they were sent to the Academy. The. girl strolling round turned to the artist and remarked: “Strange that angels are always women, isn’t it?”. “Yes,” said the artist, with a twinkle. “ Shows artists don’t know much about women, doesn’t it?” “It may he so,” retorted the girl, quickly, “ but it certainly shows that they know a lot about men.’’
