A LONG-AWAITED FARCE

EDDIE CANTOR IN ' KID MILLIONS ’ ‘ Kid Millions,’ Eddie Cantor’s latest musical extravaganza, will be the new attraction at the Regent to-morrow. It is simply crammed with humour of the most hilarious type, and also has its quota of tuneful melodies, spectacular ballets, elaborate sets, and glorious girls. The Goldwyn Girls, who have been a feature of all the yearly Cantor films, look more beautiful than ever in ' Kid Millions.’ Eddie Cantor has able support from Ethel Merman, Warren Hymer, Ann Sothern, and George Murphy. The picture shows Eddie as a boy “ Cinderella ” of the Brooklyn waterfront wlvo turns out to be the sole heir qf Professor Wilson, an Egyptologist, who left a fortune in buried treasure in Egypt. The presence of several other claimants to the fortune makes the story fast, funny, and furious. Chief of these is Ethel Merman, posing as the late professor’s wife, and her gangster boy-friend, played by Warren Hymer. The fun begins before the boat load of treasure hunters even embarks, and runs high during the crossing when Ethel and Hymer try unsuccessfully to put Eddio out of the way. The chief songs are ‘An Earful of Music,’ sung by Ethel Merman, ‘ When My , Ship ' Comes Homo,’ a novelty number sung hy Eddie Cantor, ‘ Your Head on My Shoulder,’ a duet by Ann Sothern and George Murphy, and ‘ Okay Toots,’ which Eddie Cantor sings with the Goldwyn Girls. The two big features of the show are the minstrel parade, in which Eddie Cantor, aided hy the Goldwyn Girls, all the principals, and two outstanding coloured stcp-danccrs, sings that popular Irving Berlin number. ‘ Mandy ’ ; and the wonderful teclmicolour ‘ lec Cream ’ secna, which is the finale to the show. A special supporting programme will bo beaded by Walt Disney’s latest Silly Symphony cartoon, ‘The Tortoise and the Hare.'
