Cush, lessee and trainer of Pyince Pomhal, who won under 10.7 in race record time yesterday, has decided that the former New Zealander will compete in future in Melbourne, where the prize money is more attractive. Prince Pombal has not had a spell for two years. The ‘ Telegraph,’ commenting on the race, says that Prince Pombal’s record time was a remarkable performance. He overcame more than his weight difficulties, was hurdled off at the start, and had to cover extra ground. He raced against a strong head wind, but possesses the heart of a lion.
