On this occasion his back was injured by a bale of wool, and his counsel said the. medical evidence would show that the spine had been fractured. The company contended that Douglas was now able to earn full wages. The company’s counsel said; This is your seventh claim since 1928, is it not? Claimant: I could not say. In reply to the judge, he said he could not recollect the exact number, counsel then mentioning an injury to the leg in 1928, to the back in 1929. to the leg in 1930, to the kneecap in 1931. to the finger in 1932, and to the hand in the same year. Claimant said he remembered having got compensation for these. Claimant’s counsel protested against this line of questioning, saying it must he intended to prejudice claimant.
