AMERICAN CONDITIONS

DR BERNARD MYERS'S ADDRESS With regard to certain references made in a report of an address delivered by Dr Bernard Myers at a meeting of the "Overseas League, on Tuesday afternoon. we regret that it was not made quite clear that the American conditions touched on by the doctor were not intended to refer to the present time. On being interviewed this morning, Dr Myers stated that he had not met in any part of the world a kinder or more hospitable people than Americans. whom it was always a delight- to meet. He further, stated that, on the big points concerning the happiness of the peoples of the world, the citizens of the United States were very highly advanced in their views, which were not only highly intellectual but also mos* kindly and humane.
