Britain’s reputation as the Ringing Isle is enhanced by the enlargement of the Bournville Carillon, which hangs in the tower of Bournville Village Schools, near Birmingham. When originally installed by tne late George Cadbury in 1906, is consisted of twenty-two bells; now it boasts fortyeight bells, and the most delicate response to the player’s touch of any carillon in the world. The heaviest bell weighs three and a-quarter tons and the lightest 121 b, the total weight of the instrument being seventeen and a-half tons.
