Mr A. 0. Cameron left for Wellington this morning on a short business trip. " Mr L. G. Tuck, en route for Welling- • ton, was a passenger by this morning’s north express. Doctor Borrie left this morning to spend a holiday at Hanmer Springs. Reference was made at the meeting of delegates to the Dunedin Bowling Centre on Saturday night to the death / of Mr A. Peters, a former president of the centre. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to tho deceased.It was also decided to send a letter to Mr E. T. G. Falconer, the retiring president, expressing the hope that he would speedily recover from his present illness. A public presentation, representative of tho whole Of the West Coast, ■ was made at Greymouth on Friday afternoon to Mr W. Meldrum, who recently retired from the magistracy. The presentation Of a wallet of notes was made by the Mayor' of Greymouth (Mr J. W. Greenslade). The opportunity was taken to welcome officially Mr H. Morgan, S.M., his successor. . A Press Association cable message from. Perth states that Sir Hubert Wilkins, the Polar explorer, wlio arrived at Broome’ from Java on Tuesday, announced that he would leave Sydney for New Zealand on August i. He hopes that the Antarctic expedition null be ready by the first week in September. ' ; Mr J.
