VAN STRUCK BY TRAIN. ,

As a result of a level collision at Henderson last night, .the driver of a light motor van, P. Estieh, a Dalmatian wine merchant, aged forty-five years, married, suffered head injuries. The van, of which Estieh was t l i sole occupant, was negotiating the crossing when it was struck by the Auckland-Henderson passenger tram. The van became firmly attached to the front of the locomotive and was carried over 150 yards. Considerable difficulty was experienced in extricating the injured man from the cab or the van, and portion of the van had to na broken away. His condition is serious* The van was extensively damaged.
