ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
STRUCK BY FALLING TREE. Neil George M'Kay, aged twenty-live years, was fatally injured on his farm at Alfredton when he was struck by the limb of a falling tree. A wind of almost gale force wan blowing at the time and uprooted a large rimu tree a branch of which struck M'Kay when he stepped out of a nearby tent. Death is thought to have been instantaneous. The tragedy occurred in very rough country, and the settlers had an arduous task bringing the body to the homestead. M‘Kay was a Bush representative Rugby player and a member of a well-known Gladstone family.--Mastodon message. married woman injured, Mabel Roberts, aged fifty, married, and residing at 17 Prince .Albert road, was admitted to the hospital yesterday suffering from injuries to the chest and abrasions received when a motor car collided with a tram at the corner of Howe and Cumberland streets.
