FROZEN FUEL
ATTEMPT TO LIQUEFY FAILS SHIP MAY REVERT TO COAL [l’eb United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 17. The attempts to mix Diesel fuel oil with the congealed oil of the Blue Star Lino steamer Trojan Star were continued to-day. The vessel s oil. however. was so thick that these attempts have not succeeded in liquefying the oil enough for the pumps to handle it in sufficient quantities to supply the furnaces at anything like normal pressure. It is now thought that the Trojan Star may he forced to discharge portion of her general cargo and take m coal, and alter connecting tier furnaces back to coal make the trip Home as a coal burner. After discharge m England the congealed oil will have, to be practically duo- out of her. unless some chemicn method can be used to liquefy the oil and enable it to be pumped out. The date of her departure from Wellington Ts still indefinite.
