TROUBLE IN LATVIA
MARTIAL LAW PROCLAIMED PARLIAMENT SUSPENDED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RIGA, May 16. _ Martial law lias been proclaimed in Latvia. Parliament has been suspended, and the buildings are occupied by troops. The Government announced that it has-been informed that extremists are planning an armed coup d’etat. Parliament is incapable of dealing with the economic distress, and the Constitution will be reformed while Parliament is suspended. Several Socialist leaders have been arrested.
