ESCAPE FROM GAOL
SPAIN'S RICHEST MAN Senqr Juan March, Spain’s multimillionaire and richest man, who escaped from Alcala de Henares prison, where h« had been for seventeen months, m November, returned to Spain a few weeks ago with his wifo and son. His return wa* rendered possible by the recent votes of th* Cortes, of which he is a member, granting him a free pardon for the offences for. which ho had been condemned. When a correspondent telephoned to his homo neat day it was stated that Senor March was already at work in his office, and that hi* health was much better. But ft was added that he did not intend to take his seat m the Cortes yet. He was given a great reception by the people of Palma. He recently, sold ‘ linformaciones, one ot Jus newspapers. It is stated that he has also sold all his property in Spain. ■- f After his escape from gaol it was alleged at the time, with the collusion of soma officials, Senor March took refuge at Gibraltar. It was while he was there that he was elected a member of the Cortes.
