Tire Wheat Advisory Committee ended with the announcement that, with one exception, the Governments of the exporting countries approved of the minimum price plan. Failure to obtain unanimity made reconsideration necessary, because a good deal of the plan was based on the maintenance of prices in all exporting countries, equivalent to c.i.f. minima. Argentina’s non-accept-ance brought about an impasse. REASON FOR BREAKDOWN BUENOS AIRES, May 11. The London wheat conference’s wheat price scheme broken down, the Argentine Ministry 7 of Agriculture alleged today, because the big exporting countries tried to fix a minimum price instead of reducing the acreage as originally planned.

ALTERNATIVE PLANS SUB-COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 12. (Received May 14, at noon.) Although the Wheat Advisory Committee failed to reach an agreement on the plan for fixing minimum prices which had been adopted at the Rome Conference a few weeks ago, a sub-com-mittee has been appointed consisting of representatives of Britain, France, Germany, United States, Canada, and Australia to consider possible alternative plans to stabilise and improve wheat prices. The sub-committee will •send recommendations to the Governments before the next session of the M'licat Advisory Committee, which meets in Loudon on June 27..
