[From Our Balclutha Correspondent.] The only fixture at R,/iclutha. eon Saturday was a (second 'grade match between Balclutha and Crescent, but it was a .'well-contested game, and provided the spectators with a good display. Clutha’s initial rush was stopped by the full-back, Kitto, who gave Crescent the attack with a strong kick. Mulvey then took the ball on the “blind” side of the scrum, and returned to Crescent’s twenty-five with a strong run along the side line. Kicking again saved Crescent, which broke through, rapidly and was unfortunate in being beaten to the force down. From the kick-off at twenty-five Stewart staged a good run. but was pulled up by a knock-on. Play again swayed in Crescent’s favour, and this time an error by a Clutlia back sent the ball into Gilmour’s hands, and this player scored. Kitto goaled._ Crescent 5-0.
