WOMEN'S HOCKEY

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The weekly meeting of the executive of the Otago Women’s Hockey Association was held last evening, Miss Hill presiding. There were also present Mrs Duncan, Mrs Sonntag, Miss Adams, Miss Lawson, Miss Mackie, Miss Lee, and Mr Coats. An apology was received from the secretary, Mrs Nelson, for her absence on account of ill-health. A letter was received from Miss Adams thanking the association for appointing her a vice-president for a further term. A letter was received from the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Association enclosing the agenda paper containing matters to be discussed at a conference of delegates to bo held at Wellington on Tuesday, May 15. Tire remits put forward wore fully' discussed and the delegate appointed to attend was instructed as regards voting. It was suggested that Miss L. Lawson be appointed as delegate for the conference. Preliminary arrangements were made in connection with the holding of the seven-a-side tournament at Logan Park on Monday, June 4. It was decided that entries for the tournament close with the secretary on Monday, May 28. Information was received that a lecture on the playing of hockey would be given by Mr .1. P. Northey on Tuesday evening, to which all hockey players were invited. The following matches will be played next Saturday:— —A ”, Grade.— Otago v, Dunedin, at Oval No. 1 (Mr D. Miller) ; King’s v. University, at Logan Park 111. (Mr R. S. Wallace) ; Moniona v. O.G.H.S. (to be plavecl later). —“ B ” Grade.— Otago v. Taieri, at Oval 11. (Air J. Martyn); King’s v. Y.W.C.A., at Oval 1., at 1.30 p.m. (Mr T. Moore); University v. Mornona, at Oval 1., at 1.30 p.m. (Mr R. Coats) ; Technical School v. Dunedin (to be played later). —“ C ” Grade.— Taieri v. Otago, at Mosgiol (Mr U, Brown) : Dunedin v. Y.W.C.A at Logan Bark 1. (Mr.). Leith); West Harbour v. King’s, at Logan Park ]I. (Miss M. Adams) • University v. Mnmona, at North Ground (Miss A. Woodfield).
