(Received May 8, at 9.40 a.m.) At the wool sales 6,686 bales were offered, including 2,302 from New Zealand, and abdut 2,720 bales were sold. There were quieter conditions and numerous withdrawals on high limits. Those sold realised steady rates. New Zealand greasy merino, “ Brancott,” to)) price, 19cl average, 18-Jd: scoured merinos, “ Braemar,” 33d and 32}d. , The Bradford market is a shade easier owing to the extension of the German embargo. BRISBANE SALES Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BRISBANE, May 7. The wool sales opened with a rather more attractive selection than last series. Continental competition was strong, particularly from Germany, while Bradford operated freely on suitable wools. Japan was practically out of the market. Compared with the Brisbane March sales, prices for fleece wools were 5 per cent, easier and medium and faulty 71 to 10 per cent, easier. All classes of skirtings commanded exceptionally strong bidding, with prices on a par with March values,
