OTAGO'S F.A. TROPHY CHALLENGE On June 2, should the date be acceptable to the northern association, Otago will fulfil.-its challenge for the F.A. Trophy against Auckand. A strong- Otago team, .it was stated at last- night’s meeting of the Management -Committee, over which Mr A. Sharpe presided, would he selected, although the date was early in the season. As Otagq’s challenge for the r .A. .Trophy is to be held first the question of a suitable dare was discussed. It was suggested that Juno 2 should be the date of the match at Auckland, Otago, playing a game against Wellington on June 4. The opinion was field that the dates would allow of the best team being sent away-, 1 owing to a holiday week-end being included in the travelling, Members were generally 01 the opinion that the dates were not so early that the best form could not be shown by the players. A decision was reached to submit‘Otago’s suggestions by telegram to Auckland, and to hold a meeting to discuss the reply as soon as it came to hand. . The secretary of the Wellington Association advised that his association had come to the conclusion that expense could be saved both local and visiting associations at F.A. iropliy matches if the four major bodies could come to., some mutual arrangement whereby visiting players in future would be billeted. , , . ~ Mr Sfiarpe said Otago had borne the expense of hotel maintenance when it held the trophy, and .it seemed now that the other associations wished to avoid that expense. It was decided to reply that Otago disapproved of the suggestion, that it would be unfair to the managers that the teams should be separated and that the prestige, of the game had also to be considered.

INVITATION FROM SOUTHLAND. Mr E. C. Dyer (secretary of the Southland Association) wrote inviting a visit from an Otago team at any date, and also <T team under sixteen Years of age. ‘ It was, decided to hold over a decision in the meantime.

Hoslyn-Wakari’s entry of a fourth grade team was accepted. The transfer of A. Stanley from Rq?lyn-Wakari to Caversham was granted. R. E. Ham’s application for a transfer from 0.8.H.5. to Mornington was referred to the Transfer Committee. The Caversham Club asked that the original arrangements for the second division match against Port Chalmers bo adhered to.
