TRANSFERS. Applications for transfers were granted as follows:—A. Shanks, from Heriot to KaSkorai; d. E. Beaton, Bluff (Southland) to Kaikorai; G. MT’adrtcn, Henley to Kaikorai; K, E., Hccnan, ; Palmerston to University. An application was received from G. T. Beil by for a transfer from Training College ''(Christchurch) to Alexandra, and it was decided to advise the player that the application should be made to the Vincent Sub-union. SUB-UNIONS’ TOUR: The Secretaries, of the Eastern District, South Tuapeka, and Tnapeka Subunions wrote approving of the suggestion for the extension of the tour of the sub-unions’ team to include matches with Ashburton and South Canterbury A letter was also received from the Ashburton Union asking if it would be possible to arrange a match at Ashburton this year. The Secretary said that it was suggestcS that the sub-unions’ team might visit Ashburton this year. At present it had been decided to play North Otago, but the extension of the tour to South Canterbury and Ashburton was at present under consideration. All the sub-unions had not yet expressed their views on the matter. It was decided to hold over the matter for a week, ponding further replies from the .sub-unions. REMARKS WITHDRAWN. Mr R. Herd wrote in connection with remarks made by him at the annual meeting of the Kaikorai Football Club. He wished to state that at the time he spoke the circular concerning the notice, of motion to be tabled at the O.R.F.U. meeting had not been placed before the meeting of the Kaikorai Club, and ho was under the impression that the Otago Union was sponsoring the notice of motion. Under that mistaken impression lie expressed opinions which he now regretted, and wished to withdraw H. Karris said he 'thought Mr Herd had seen the .error of his ways, and the union could receive the letter and let him know, it had received it, this being agreed to. REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES CONFIRMED. The Secretary of the Canterbury Rugby Union wrote confirming August 4 as the date for the, Payne, trophy match and August 11 lor the Canteibnrv v. Otago match, both at Dunedin. '' / ~ The. Secretary of the Hawke s Bay Rugby Union wrote confirming July 25 as the date for the Hawke’s Bay-Otago match at -Dunedin. NEW ZEALAND SELECTOR. It was decided to nominate Mr IV. Pearson as a New Zealand selector. FOURTH GRADE COMPETITION, The Secretary of the Green Island Club advised that, it was now able to enter a team in the fourth grade competition, providing two or three overage players were allowed to turn out in the meantime. The club would, if desired, waive any flag points that might be won. Mr I. Grant said that if they allowed the bigger boys to take part the smaller boys might be knocked about. Mr D.
