CAVERSHAM SCHOOL
EX-PUPILS' ASSOCIATION Satisfaction with the position of the Cavershaxn, School Ex-pupils and Exteachers’ Association was expressed at its seventh annual meeting, held on Tuesday evening. Mrs 1. Emslie presided over a good attendance of members. Mr E. J. Allen (secretary) presented a complete report on the association’s activities for the past year, and Mr H. H. Todd (treasurer) presented the bal-ance-sheet, which disclosed a balance of £l3 6s 10d. Moving the the report and balance-sheet, the President said that though the membership was below last year’s members were not dissatisfied with the result, and again looked forward to a good year of service to the old school. Several old members of the committee who had been actively engaged since the beginning of the association were retiring, and she hoped some of the younger members would take up their duties. She wished to thank lady members of the committee for their willing services at the socials, the school committee for the use of a room for committee meetings, and the executive for its assistance and willingness to co-operate with her during the last.year. In conclusion, she hoped that the incoming year would be a brighter one for all. Mr Todd, in seconding the motion, said that the association was still on a sound footing, and despite a slight decrease in membership was still carrying on the good work for which it had been formed. Speaking as an old school committeeman, he said that they were always pleased to accept donations to the old school from the association. The fact that there was a membership of 124 in times such as those now existing was, in itself, an indication that strength and interest of ex-pupils were behind the association, said Mr W, G. Burns (head master of the school). Ho extended deepest thanks to the association for its valuable assistance during the last year. He pointed out that the balance-sheet showed an expenditure of £SO, of which the school received the sum of £43.
