PROTESTANT ALLIANCE

W.M. Bro. Geo. Perrin presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Triumph Lodge, assisted by the P.M., Bro. W. O’Neill, and Chaplain Bro, Mathewson and a full staff of officers. There was, also a large attendance of members and visitors. The Social Committee’s report on its future arrangements was agreed to. The W.M. welcomed the visitors. The lodge was then closed and members were entertained by the band in dancing and musical items. The Pride of tho Valley Ladies’ Lodge, No. 1, held a successful meeting in the Orange Hall. W. Mistress Sister Currie presided and was assisted in the opening exercises by Actingchaplain Sister Porter. There was a good attendance of members. Correspondence was dealt with from the Grand Secretary in reference to the order, also from tho Jubilee Committee. An invitation to attend a church service was accepted. The Superintendent, Bro. Zimmerman, complimented the lodge on its progress. At the fortnightly meeting of the Valley True Blue Juvenile Lodge, No. 11, there was an excellent attendance of officers and members. The lodge was presided over by W.M. Bro. Williams. One candidate was initiated by the W.M., assisted by his D.M. and junior officers. Tho Superintendent, P.M. Bro. Sutherland, congratulated the D.M., Bro. Tombs, on the capable manner in which he had carried out his ritual work.

The fortnightly meeting of the Valley True Blue Lodge, No. 11, held in the Orange Hall, was opened by the W.M., Bro. Graves, supported by a full staff of officers. The Social Committee reported that it was making final arrangements for tho forthcoming jubilee. One candidate was initiated by the W.M., Bro. Graves, assisted by his P.M.s. P.M. Bro. G. T. Austin resigned his position as reporter and was thanked for his services by the W.M. I.G. Bro. Strachau was appointed in his place. After tho business had been disposed of an enjoyable social was held. Items were contributed by Mrs Carr, Miss Gilmore, and Bros. Jackson and Moss. Bro. Campbell was M.C. for the dance.
