The Lily of the Valley Lodge meeting was presided over by’ A'.D. Bro. Winter.: A considerable amount of correspondence was received and dealt with. Invitation* from the chapter for the Boss Stewart competition, from Ivanhoo Lodge challenging Lily for euchre shield, and a welcome to the new lodge room were received. It was decided to play Ivanhoe at the Lily’s next meeting. After routine business had been disposed of Dr De Latour was announced and admitted and welcomed by the A.D. on behalf of the brethren. He delivered) a short lecture on ‘ Blood Pressure,' which was listened to with marked attention.' Arrangements for hard-up night were left in the hands of the secretary. Supper was handed round. The toasts were honoured by A.D. Bro. Robertson, Pride of Mornington, and others. The meeting closed at an early hour. The Otago Lodge met last Monday evening, and Arch Druid Bro. Sheppard presided over a large attendance of members.Invitations were received and accepted from Ivanhoe Lodge and the Royal Arch Chapter. The lodge went into mourning out of respect to the memory of Bro. T. M’Kersey, who passed away a few days previously, and was one of the oldest members of the lodge, having joined in 1880. Bros. Watson, Giliam, and M’Crone were selected to contest the debate at Royal Oak next week.A challenge for the cribbage shield wa* received, and the first contest will be on August 28. Bro. D. Brown reported on a Eleasant evening spent with the Alexandra edge, whose progress is pleasing to note. After business the members spent a. social hour with cards and games. Bro. Ford (Enterprise) responded to the visitors* toast.
