PORT CHALMERS' UNEMPLOYED
Only 105 relief workers are employed this week at Port Chalmers, and they are intermittent workers from the waterfront. This is stand-down week for the other unemployed. In conformity with the Unemployment Board’s reduced allotments work has been rationed, and-for the weeks ending December 31 and January 7 the 18s mea will receive 14s sd; the 37s 6d men 30s, aud the 50s men 42s 6s. The men are not required to work those two weeks, but payment will be made ia terms of the board’s Christmas holi.lays concession,
