ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
BOATING FATALITY. The body of Roy Goldwater, aged twenty-five, of 23 Victoria crescent, Newmarket (Auckland), the second victim of the boating accident in the upper harbour on October 29, was recovered off Point Chevalier on Saturday afternoon. Tho body of his companion, James Christopher King, aged fifty-six, was recovered on Friday near Northcote wharf, and at the inquest a verdict was returned that death was duo to drowning following the accidental overturning of a boat. CAR GOES OVER BANK. A Maori named Whakarangi Karaitiani Kamau, of Bridge Pa, was killed yesterday when a car went over a bank near Mason’s Ridge at Raukawa. A party of Maori shearers returning to Hastings stopped to go eeling, leaving Kamau with the car. V hen the party returned the car was found at tho bottom of the gully and the body of the deceased was close by. It is assumed that Kamau was engaged in adjusting the brakes, and when he released them the car went backwards over the hank.: The deceased was aged thirty-iime years, and was married, with one child.
