Mr W. 0. M'Kollar left by the through express this morning for; Christchurch.

Colonel G. Barclay, grand secretary of the Grand Masonic Lodge of New; Zealand, passed through this morning from Invercargill on his way to Auck-

land. The Hon. W. Stevenson, M.L.C., was a passenger from Invercargill by tho through express to-day on his way to Wellington. Miss Hilda Scurr went north this morning, en route to Sydney. Mrs Ernest Drake, Miss Ethel Wallace, Miss Mary Pratt, and Master: Lex Macdonald left this morning by the through express, to take part in a concert tour of the north.

Dr E. J. Stuckey, 0.8. E., superintendent of the Mackenzie Memorial Hospital, Tientsin, North China, who is visiting New Zealand as the deputation of the London Missionary Society,; arrived hr Dunedin yesterday. During his stay here. Dr Stuckey will be the guest of Mrs James M'Gill, Cargill street.

Harold W. Austen, a Dunedin lad of nineteen years of age, is reported by the principal of Johnson’s Wireless School (Wellington) to have achieved outstanding success in his studies. _ln passing the final examination in wireless telegraphy by the Post and Telegraph Department the principal states that without a doubt Austen created a record not only for the school, but, ha believed, for the whole of New Zealand, despite the fact that he commenced his studies at the school with no knowledge whatsoever of the subjects covered by the requirements. The resignation of Mr Bernard F.Page as city organist was announced by the Mayor of Wellington (Mr T. C. A. Hislop) last evening. Mr Hislop said that the organ recitals in the Town Hall had not been fully appreciated by the public, and this had impelled Mr Page to resign. His duties would ceas© at the end of the present month, and he would receive three months’ leave of absence on full pay. In addition,he would receive pay for his accumulated leave and a sum of money, in alt about £3lO, Mr Page intends to visit England. , Staving at the City Hotel are Mr lv>H. Aden (Auckland), Mr F. N.
