Interesting trap sliooting events wore held by the members of the Dunedin Gun Club at Green Island grounds on Saturday afternoon. In tbe Skcet ” match 11. McDonald broke tbe fourteen birds straight from the seven different positions, and he registered a popular win, as “skcet” conditions arc recognised as the hardest form of trap shooting. Mr M‘Donald is the third member of the chib to break the fourteen birds straight, and lie and Messrs T, Callaghan and G. E. Turner are the only throe members in tbe dominion holding this record. E. P. Graham and C. Wilson (Tawanui) each broke thirteen birds, taking second prize money. G. E. Turner (11 breaks), A. King (8) and A. Burgess (Tawanui, 8) were the highest of the other shooters. Nine Clay Bird Handicap (ordinary trap shooting).—A. King (15yds) 9, 11. McDonald (21yds) 9, A. A. Fairbairn (ISvds) 9, C. Wilson (11yds) 9, G. E. Turner (22yds) 8, E. P. Graham (23yds) 8, M. H. Greenslade (Ilyds) 8, L. E. Wilson (Ilyds) 8, A. Burgess (Ilyds) G, F. Bradley (Ilyds) G. The sweepstake was divided among A. King, 11. M'Donald, A. A. Fairbairn, and C. Wilson.
Six Bird Teams Match (five men nsidc, off 14yds).—G. E. Turner’s team and E. P. Graham’s team each tallied 26 breaks, and after a further throe birds each G. E. Turner’s team (A. King, C. Wilson, L. E. Wilson, and A. Burgess) divided the sweepstake. Six Bird Gimcrack (each shooter going back one yard each break). —A. A. Fairbairn (13yds to 18yds) 6. A. Burgess (llvds to 16yds) 6, M. R. Greenslado (13yds to 18yds) 5, G. E. Turner (21vds to 24yds) 4, R. M'Donald (24yds to 23yds) 4, T. Long (12yds to 14yds) 4. The sweepstake was divided between A. A. Fairbairn and A. Burgess.
