—Ministerial.— The Prime Minister arrived at Christchurch this morning to fulfil several public engagements. During his stay in the south Mr Forbes will visit Lincoln Agricultural College. On Thursday next he will attend the annual meeting and dinner of the Canterbury, Chamber of Commerce, and the following day he will attend the jubilee celebrations of the Oxford School, which ia in his electorate. He will return to Wellington at the end of next week to meet the Hon. J. G. Coates, who will return from the Ottawa Conference on September 19. The Minister of Lands (Hon. E. A, Ransom) will leave Wellington fop Christchurch on Monday evening to attend to business in Canterbury relating to Crown tenants. He will probably return at the end of the week. . ■ The Minister of Health (Hon. J. AYoung) left Wellington for the north bv train last evening. "The Mayor (Mr R. S. Black) _ has practically recovered from bis indisposition, and will be on civic duty again early next week. Mr D. C. Cameron has been elected to the Otago Education Board to fill tjie vacancy caused by the death of Mg J. H. Wilkinson. The election yesterday in the urban area resulted: D. The annual meeting of the com-, pany was held on Thursday, when Sip John was, re-elected a director and congratulated on his long and valuable service in the interests of the comP Madam© Galli Curci and her husband, accompanied by Sir Williams (flautist) and Mr Leon W bite (manager for J. C. Williamson), left Dunedin this morning by tho 11.35 train, booked for Auckland. The cold that troubled madame is conquered, and when the party left it was with the full expe ation of fulfilling the engagement ail Auckland and later on at Dunedin. Mr John SI.
